Decide to Believe’s Mental Health Skill building services provide goal directed training and supports to help participants restore their highest level of baseline functioning, and maintain community stability and independence. Assessment by a licensed mental health professional and Individualized Treatment Planning is used to create participant-centered, face-to-face activities, interventions, and goal directed trainings around functional skill building in relation to daily activities, health monitoring, and medication management in the most appropriate, least restrictive environments.
Mental Health Skill Building activities can include:

·  Trainings on personal care and hygiene to help participants regain functional skills and appropriate behavior related to health and safety

·  Skills training and reinforcement on the use of available community resources, such as public transportation

·  Condition specific education designed to increase the participants ability to recognize and respond to symptoms

·  Stress management and coping skills training to support the participant’s continued adjustment to managing mental illness

·  Training and coaching to facilitate improved communication, problems solving and appropriate coping skills

·  Assistance with medication management

·  Targeted exercises and coaching to restore the participant’s ability to monitor and regulate their health, nutrition, and physical condition
